What has been happening for the last 7 months! Part 1

I haven’t been updating my blog for the last 7 months, as we have been in lockdown for the last 3 months and been able to come out of lockdown for the last months but we managed to get to Cornwall for 6 weeks to help mum work on the house, also spent a few weeks at my mums house, we had a cold winter and was hoping for a warm summer, but we have had a cold/ wet summer.

Currently i am listening to a podcast he is the Huberman Lab is Andrew Huberman who has a PHD in Neuroscience and works out the best possible way to function/ sleep/ eat and make sure one is productive with their work, but one thought that keeps coming up in his podcast is about the Optical flow and forward ambulation ( nerd speaking) walking which means waking up in the morning and going for a brisk walk.

I wrote down a few things that stayed in my head

Wake up at the same time every day, record wake time (2 hrs before was temperature minimum) -Walk outside for 10-60 minutes (leads to focused alertness) -Drink 32 oz water with 0.5 tsp salt -Delay coffee until 90-120 minutes after waking -Delay food until ~12pm -Work ritual: 90-minute deep work period starting 4 hrs after waking (keep computer at eye-level, play white noise) -1 hr workout (cycles of 3 days of lifting, 2 days of cardio then 3 days of cardio, 2 days of lifting) AFTERNOON -Lower-carb lunch (mostly meat and vegetables, add bread/rice/oatmeal if you exercised). Try to not eat much past 80% full. Get omega 3s. -Walk 5-30 minutes after lunch. -Some form of relaxation practice. -Another 90-minute deep work session. -Walk 10-30 minutes around 4-5pm EVENING -Eat high-starchy carb dinner with some protein to improve sleep -Take a hot shower/20 minute sauna before sleep -Go to sleep at the same time every day in a dark, cool room this guy is amazing and i really enjoy listening to him.

During lockdown i have found that Audible has been a great listening device and i have really enjoyed it, i have read/ listened to so many books and enjoying ‘The body keeps the score’ by Van Bessel who is a psychiatrist that has learnt what to do or how to deal with trauma in a relationship and also effected by children and what the long term implications are for trauma and what to do to repair the brain, one of the ideas he had was to think of a happy place .

I am sure alot of you saw that a lady was taken and murdered around my area in Clapham South in March 2021, literally just up the road about 5 mins away and was taken away by a police officer. This was a very sad few weeks in London and also alot of protests because it was a police officer and then also to try and understand who it was and not being able to have a vigil and cancelling but people turning up to the vigil. Poor Sarah, what she must have gone through and what Wayne ( the police officer, who is waiting trial) said to her ( which i don’t want to know).
